How to get there

The Museum is 2.0 km from Naples Central Station and 6.4 km from the Airport of Naples-Capodichino.

The museum can be reached using bus no. 201
or by underground (stops: Piazza Cavour and Museum).

The National Archaeological Museum occupies a group of XVI century buildings which were originally intended to house the royal cavalry, and then became the seat of the university from 1610 to 1777. The collections comprise mainly works of art belonging to the Farnese family and treasures discovered at Pompeii and Herculaneum. It is one of the richest museums in the world for Greek and Roman antiquities.
